Overview

Mr. Akshay, one of the founding members of Framista Art Resource Pvt Ltd. was came out with new idea for developing eCommerce Platform for artists to sell their art work online. The idea was to create online Art Market Place - Framista.com which would encourage artist to get register and sell their art (Painting/Photographs) online.

Challenges

The Challenge for Apps Dev Hub was to bring this idea in live that would attract customers to buy painting or photographs by selecting size of canvas, Original Painting or Print Copy, further with selecting one of the frames along with Mount Padding. Also customer can directly send request to artist to buy Original Art.

As the client wanted to create a platform for both customers and artists, the platform specific requirements and customization were also a major challenge.

How we made it?

After listing down the number of features to integrate into the eCommerce platform, After a thorough research on project requirements we found the most suitable development framework would be Codeigniter (PHP) through which we could deliver it on time and according to the client requirements. Codeigniter over PHP is the best framework which definitely drive customer retention with perfect solution.

Proposed Solutions

Artist Profile:

As it is platform for artist to upload and sell their art online, artist has to go through registration phase. Artist account will be activated only after the approval of system admin. By logging into their account, artist can upload their art (image, art title, description, category, art tags) and option to put original art for sell, put original price, and product dimensions.

Artist is able to see the product status like Published or rejected by admin, after publishing products, artist will receive the SMS and Email Acknowledgement. Artist is able to see the orders placed on his products and the outstanding payment to receive from system admin and the received payment.

Buy Art:

The key requirement of framista.com was to develop Price Calculator module which could customize price according to customer's requirements. There are different parameters like size of Canvas prints, Selection of frames, Mount padding and buy original which could affect final price in shopping cart.

Services:

Framista.com will showcase and provide information of the work related to Photography and Video shooting services. Also there will be a photo and video gallery which System Admin will be able to manage from admin panel. They are basically albums and for each album there are photos, videos and other details.

System Admin:

System Admin is able to add, edit or delete any Product category any time. Final approval for Artist to upload art is given by system admin. Admin is able to see the products awaiting for approval. Admin can approve/reject publish the products and update the product stock. While rejecting product, admin is able to send message to the artist for the rejection.

Setting the minimum quantity, if stock of any product goes below the predefined value, the system generates email notification which is sent to System Admin. There are reports generated in system like Total Orders Report, Category wise sales report, Artist wise sales report, Total Success Orders report, Cancelled orders reports, etc.

Discounts:

Deals and Offers are always beneficial to attract more customer and increase sells. System Admin can offer discounts (Discount Name ,Discount Coupon Code ,Discount Percentage (%), Discount Usability Count, Active Date range, Minimum Order amount required to redeem discount , Applicable to entire store / any main or sub category).

Other Configurations:

System admin can directly add, edit, or delete users of admin panel. He is able to block Artist account or reset the password of any user. Setting up admin emails for receiving the Important Notifications and even he can set shipping charges and amount of order to which shipping will be free.
